Stevie Sowell R.I.P. - vocals, piano, saxophone, Hammond organ

Steve Sowell passed away on Friday, March 2nd, 2007. We miss him.

Lil' Stevie Sowell began playing music in 1963. He studied saxophone in high school band and learned to play keyboards by watching his mother, who was the piano player at the church they attended. Stevie played with several gospel groups over the years, and began playing secular music in 1971. A founding member of Blues DeVille, Stevie played piano, Hammond organ & sax, as well as providing vocals, backup vocals and occasional side-splitting humor. He also loved country music and played it with The Honky Tonk Heroes.
